First Line Treatment
Artificial Tears are non prescription eye drops for the treatment of mild or occasional dry eyes.
Dosing Please follow the manufaturer recommendations. Often, they can be applied every 2 hours or as often as needed.
Storage Place artificial tears in the refrigerator for additional cooling relief.
Prescription Medications
Medications are used when the goal is to treat underlying causes of dry eye including but not limited to inflammation of the eyelid, or cornea surface. Usually, the relief of symptoms may take some time.
Punctal Plugs
Punctal plugs are tiny silicone plugs used to close the openings to the tear ducts in the inner corner of your eyelids to help you conserve tears.
